The Gala is Raising Money to Support:

  • Veterans Decompression Digs

    The Museum partner’s with the Earth Sciences Foundation to provide the Veteran Decompression Dig program to help Veterans reacclimate to civilian life. We provide them with a connection to civilian life and foster’s excitement about the Earth sciences through decompression digs. This program provides transportation, meals, and lodging to every service member in the program at no cost to them.

    The Museum currently has a waiting list of 60 veterans hoping for your support.


  • 2026 Community Digs

    Remember when you were a child and you first discovered dinosaurs? Or maybe it was plant fossils? That excitement and discovery you felt is a gift that can be given to a child or adult in our Sheridan community. Our 2026 Community Digs only happen with donations and volunteers.

    The more support we receive, the more digs that can happen, and the more children we can introduce to the wonders of dinosaurs.

  • Equipment and Prep Materials

    The Museum runs on stuff: equipment, displays, pippets, scalpels, and glue. These materials are a small sample of what’s required to keep the Museum functional as a scientific center and community resource.

  • Women in Science Programming

    Science for girls and women is not often addressed as a viable career or hobby option: The Museum is changing that through curated programming. We have speakers, projects, mentors, and leaders ready to support girls and women in science.

    Be apart of standing up for girls and women in science by contributing your support so our Sheridan community can thrive.

  • Exhibit Development and Growth

    Expanding our exhibits is a three step process. Step 1 is we need to expand our hours to provide more community programming. Step 2 is increasing our space for more of our own curated exhibits and for traveling exhibits (like Burgess Junction). Step 3 is increasing the total number of available exhibits.

    All steps can be achieved with more space and more funding.
